This book cover follows the typical Suhrkamp Design for Paperbacks in its monochromatic cover (this time black with white font) in describing the german words for His Masters Voice.
The picture in the middle shows a false colour image of Norhtern Lights over a darkened Planet Earth. It could also be a plasma trail of a bigger object entering Earths Ionosphere.
At any rate the picture might have been chosen to exemplify the energetic radiation that surrounds the world invisibly and yet carried so much weight, like the magnetic fields do in those plasmotic eruptions, and like the background radiation does in the Novel that is contained in the book with this cover.
